CAMBRIDGE, Mass., April 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Hadapt, creator of the first big data platform combining Apache Hadoop and relational DBMS, today announced that Big Data industry veteran Christopher Lynch has joined the company's Board of Directors as Chairman. Lynch was most recently Senior Vice President & General Manager, Vertica Systems at Hewlett-Packard.
"We're adding a distinguished industry veteran to our Board of Directors," said Hadapt CEO Justin Borgman. "Chris is an incredible mentor, and his guidance as Chairman will be invaluable as we position Hadapt for growth." Lynch brings nearly 30 years of experience in the computer industry, specifically leading companies through high-growth periods.
"Hadapt is at the forefront of using Hadoop as a platform for Big Data analytics, at a time when businesses are becoming increasingly data-driven in the ways that they compete," said Lynch. "The company's Adaptive Analytical Platform is a cost-effective, fast and flexible solution for these businesses and I'm excited about the strong and differentiated value proposition Hadapt brings to enterprises. I joined as Chairman of the Board not only because of Hadapt's differentiated technology offering, but because I'm also extremely impressed with the company's innovative management team and its rapid growth and traction to date."
"Chris' background in the Big Data space will be invaluable to our board of directors," said Felda Hardymon, partner at Bessemer Ventures. "As we implement an aggressive growth strategy, we will rely on Chris' expertise in rapidly growing companies and positioning them for success."

"The combination of Chris' experience leading Vertica and F5, guiding well-known public and privately-held companies to profitable growth as well as his deep network of industry contacts, will be invaluable to Hadapt as the company continues to roll out its groundbreaking solutions to enterprises who are looking to unlock the true value from Big Data."
