CAMBRIDGE, Mass., March 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Hadapt, the only data analytics platform natively integrating SQL with Apache Hadoop, has added Christopher Rocca to the executive management team as VP of Engineering. In this position, Rocca will be responsible for leading the development of Hadapt's Adaptive Analytical Platform.
"Christopher has spent the past 25 years building world-class engineering organizations in data management and data center infrastructure management," said Hadapt CEO Justin Borgman. "Adding Christopher to the team enables us to accelerate our product development activities and further solidifies our leadership position as the SQL-based analytical platform for Hadoop."
Previously, Rocca was Co-Founder and VP of Engineering at Viridity Software, where he led the development of EnergyCenter, the company's innovative Data Center Management solution. After being acquired by Schneider Electric in 2011, Christopher led the development organization of Schneider's Data Center Management Suite. Prior to Viridity, Rocca was VP of Engineering and Director of Development at Revivio, delivering a Continuous Data Protection storage appliance, which was acquired by Symantec. Earlier in his career, he was a Principal Engineer and Senior Engineering Manager at Motorola via the C-Port acquisition. Christopher began his career as a Software Engineer at Digital Equipment.
"Boston has become the epicenter of Big Data and Hadapt the primary catalyst," said Rocca. "The vision of the company and depth of development talent has positioned Hadapt to own the SQL on Hadoop market segment. This company is going to positively and fundamentally disrupt the way enterprises conduct business intelligence, and I'm thrilled to help them do it."
Hadapt empowers analysts to conduct investigative analytics on all of their data (structured, unstructured or semi-structured) in a single, unified platform, using standard business intelligence tools. The Adaptive Analytical Platform also includes the Hadapt Development Kit, enabling analysts to create advanced SQL analytic functions that can be used for campaign analysis, full text search, funnel analysis, sentiment analysis, pattern matching and predictive modeling.
Hadapt has developed the industry's only Big Data analytic platform natively integrating SQL with Apache Hadoop. The unification of these traditionally segregated platforms enables customers to analyze all of their data (structured, semi-structured and unstructured) in a single platform—no connectors, complexities or rigid structure. The company is headquartered in Cambridge, MA.
