Hammacher Schlemmer Introduces The Classic European Copper Distiller
NEW YORK, Sept. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --Continuing its 168-year history of offering the Best, the Only and the Unexpected, Hammacher Schlemmer announces The Classic European Copper Distiller, the device used for making floral waters and essential oils for over a millennium.
Based upon the original distiller invented by the "father of perfume distillation," Alkindus, during the 9th century in what became present-day Iraq, this model uses the same principles of alchemy for extracting essential oils from one's preferred herbs.
"You fill its cucurbit with water and your preferred herbs, such as lavender or peppermint," explained Hammacher Schlemmer's General Manager Fred Berns. "The oil lamp heats and boils the liquid to produce an oil vapor that condenses, cools, and converts into a concentrated distillate."
It is made from precisely machined valves to control vapor flow and is secured to a walnut base with steel supports; aromatic oil is collected in a cooling cup.
The Classic European Copper Distiller is available from Hammacher Schlemmer for $149.95. For more information about this product, please visit The Classic European Copper Distiller at hammacher.com, or contact Trish Hammond at (847) 581-8987 or via e-mail at [email protected].
