Hampton Bays' Resident Peter Melonas is Having an Online Downsizing Auction on MaxSold
Peter was in the first Peace Corps classes and spent his 40 year career in New York.
HAMPTON BAYS, N.Y., April 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Hampton Bays' Peter Melonas is relocating to a warmer Scottsdale, Arizona. Helping his transition is MaxSold, a multinational online auction company, established in 35 US and Canadian markets.
Peter Melonas joined the Peace Corps after hearing John F Kennedy's 1961 inaugural speech, "ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country". Peter's career with the Peace Corps took him to Iran, Turkey and Greece. Living around the world has allowed him to collect unique items from his travels, many of which will be featured in the MaxSold online auction.
Peter, having worked in several major companies during his career. During his time in the city he collected many books and maps from Argosy Bookstore, a stunning vintage sofa from W&J Sloane on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, and also a Gustavo Novoa painting, an artist favored by George H.W. Bush. The auction is a melting pot of items from his time in the Peace Corps and his life in New York.
MaxSold's founder Barry Gordon, a second generation auctioneer, inducted into the National Auctioneers Hall of Fame, noted that, "By using MaxSold, Peter has chosen an environmentally friendly solution. Many online auction companies and estate sale providers cherry pick what they believe to be the nicer items, not solving the problem for the client. However, MaxSold lists everything - from fine art and antiques, to step ladders and beach chairs - to maximize both clear out and net sale value through competitive bidding within tight real estate timelines."
Peter's move was simplified by MaxSold, his Items were photographed and cataloged by the local MaxSold team to make the goods accessible to bid online. Thankfully, bidders aren't showing up by the thousands to Peter's home and bartering for his items. A unique take to downsizing through MaxSold has made Peter's move more convenient, allowing him to focus on Arizona. "Although we have a regional focus when it comes to marketing the goods, the goods are also accessible online around the world - successful out of state or out of country buyers can make alternative arrangements to pickup their purchases at the stated date, time and location of pickup. Successful bidders local to the Hamptons area or the surrounding New York Tri-State would pickup the items in person," said Sushee Perumal, CEO of MaxSold.
View Peter's and other New York auctions on MaxSold.com/USA/New+York/ - select the Hampton Bays auction listing - there is no fee to register and bid. Bidding gets competitive in the last 15 minutes of closing. Bidding ends April 20th, 2017 at 7:45 pm and the pickup event for the successful bidders is in the Hampton Bays on April 22nd, 2017 12 pm to 4 pm.
