HarmonyOnline.com Music Supplies Business Sold
Online music supplies company HarmonyOnline.com is now owned by Mike and Mary Dirr, owners of Moppet Management, Louisville, Kentucky.
OSHKOSH, Wis., Feb. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Harmony Online has been sold to Mike and Mary Dirr, owners of Moppet Management, Louisville, Kentucky. HarmonyOnline.com founder and previous owner Marianne Oleson, negotiated the sale of the online music business in January, 2010. The business sold for an undisclosed amount.
The Web-based business sells piano benches, musical instruments, music stands and cabinets, sheet music, stage lighting, and supplies to maintain instruments such as covers, oils, and polishes.
Oleson started the business in 1998, growing it to a significant online business with over 50,000 customers in the United States, and annual sales growing annually.
The new owners hope to continue to grow Harmony Online even further, but will continue to operate primarily as an online business. Mary Dirr will serve as President of the company. The Dirr's state they were searching for a business, which was specifically virtual and suits the needs of their family currently. The Dirr's are both graduates of the University of Kentucky, with Mary earning a B.S. in Business and Mike earning a Masters in Business. They will operate under Moppet Management, Inc. dba HarmonyOnline.com Music. Mike Dirr anticipates that the company will add an additional five employees by year-end of 2010.
