Havana Central Announces Partnership With Costco Wholesale Corporation
Cuban Eatery Continues Expansion, Introduces Gift Cards At Select Costco Stores
NEW YORK, Aug. 28, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Havana Central – the popular New York eatery known for its festive ambiance and high-quality, authentic Cuban comfort food – announces today its partnership with Costco Wholesale Corporation. The deal introduces the restaurant's gift cards for purchase, now available at Costco Yonkers (20 Stew Leonard Drive, Yonkers, NY 10710) and Costco 116th Street Manhattan (517 E 117th Street, New York, NY 10035).
With three locations – Times Square, Manhattan's Upper West Side and Ridge Hill Village in Yonkers, NY and one under construction at Roosevelt Field Mall in Long Island – Havana Central affords patrons a fanciful excursion to the 1950s golden era of Cuba. Jeremy Merrin, Founder and President of Havana Central, has an aggressive expansion plan for the company – which includes opening 2-3 restaurants yearly in new markets – as he aims to turn Havana Central into the first authentic, large-format Cuban chain restaurant nationwide. Havana Central will continue to collaborate with Costco, selling gift cards at locations in close proximity to each new restaurant.
"Our strategic alliance with Costco marks a turning point for Havana Central as we continue to build the brand regionally and then nationally," says Merrin. "This is our first commerce partnership and the beginning of an exciting expansion beyond our restaurants."
