LINTHICUM, Md., Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Haven Custom Homes, a leader in the construction of custom modular homes for more than 40 years, in partnership with Artisan Fine Homes have completed the first Russell Versaci designed modular home in Maryland.
Located on a beautiful 12 acre horse farm in northern Maryland, the "Currier" home is a classic 19th-century Southern farmhouse with Greek Revival details designed by Russell Versaci.
The two-story home features 3,035 square feet of living space with three bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, a basement and covered porches. Connected to the Currier by a covered walkway is the "Carriage" house, a two-story compatible outbuilding which serves as the garage and home office.
The Currier and Carriage house are both part of Russell Versaci's newest home collection, Pennywise Factory-Built Homes. Authentic in historic style, these homes are cost-effective, quick to build and sustainably green. The Collection includes two sets of designs: the Simple Farmhouse Portfolio and the Simple Cottage Sampler. The Simple Farmhouse Portfolio homes range from 1,600 to 3,200 square feet and offer compatible outbuildings. The Simple Cottage Sampler homes range from 650 to 800 square feet and make for ideal guest cottages, studios and home offices.
The 22 Pennywise home designs can be viewed in "The Haven Collection" – Haven's portfolio of over 180 home designs from nationally and regionally recognized partner architects. The Haven Collection can be accessed through Haven's website at www.HavenHomes.com and selecting the Floor Plans link.
"Haven Homes is honored to be working with Russell Versaci. Russell's home designs are among our most popular in the Haven Collection and offer clients a home rich in historic style and details while being affordable and eco-friendly," said Jerry Smalley, CEO and president for Haven Custom Homes.
The home was constructed in Haven Custom Homes' climate-controlled production facility in less than a remarkable 21 days, and then delivered 60 percent completed in October of 2009.
"The efficiency of Haven Homes' modular construction proves that they can tackle even the most challenging new old house designs in a speedy, pennywise way that delivers on modular's promise," said Russell Versaci, principal at Russell Versaci Architecture.
Following the home installation by Haven, Artisan Fine Homes completed the home in eight weeks so the homeowners could move in and enjoy their new home by Christmas.
This home is the first of many built in a newly formed partnership between Artisan Fine Homes and Haven Custom Homes. The two companies have completed a total of five homes in the past seven months and have an additional three homes on the books for upcoming production.
"We've had a great experience working with Haven. We're quite pleased with their custom capabilities, quality and attention to detail... and our customers are too," says Ed Smith, founder of Artisan Fine Homes.
