HDBaseT Alliance Establishes Medical Work Group to Address the AV Needs of the Healthcare Sector

DUSSELDORF, Germany, Nov. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- COMPAMED -- The HDBaseT Alliance, the cross-industry group tasked with promoting and advancing the HDBaseT standard, is pleased to announce the establishment of the Medical Work Group to develop an industry standard for secure medical connectivity. HDBaseT is the ultimate technology for high performance digital connectivity, enabling the convergence of audio & video, Ethernet, controls, USB and power over a single Cat6 cable for up to 100m, or even longer distances with fiber.

With increased needs for high performance digital connectivity in the healthcare sector, HDBaseT can deliver the high performance, low latency, and flexibility needed for operating rooms, patient monitoring, and diagnostics.  HDBaseT simplifies cabling infrastructure, streamlines cross-vendor interoperability, and enables high-bandwidth uncompressed transmissions, a must during advanced imaging and surgical procedures.
