Headline Themes at MAPIC 2012 Plus special events!

14-16 November 2012 - Palais des Festivals, Cannes

PARIS, Nov. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The 18th edition of MAPIC opens for business November 14.

Multi-channelling, interaction between culture and shopping, retailing in transit hubs, and Russia as Country of Honour, are the key themes at this 18th MAPIC.

Organised by Reed MIDEM, a Reed Exhibitions subsidiary, MAPIC will be held in Cannes from 14-16 November.

Multi-channelling

MAPIC will focus on the topical issue of how e-commerce is impacting mainstream retailing practices. What are the new strategies being implemented by retail professionals and retail real estate players?

MAPIC is organising a presentation session for the press to illustrate various aspects of the 'shop of the future', with a full-scale simulation of the consumer experience at different steps from home to the point of sale, showcasing six innovative technologies.

If you want to attend the presentation visit at the More VISION Pavilion, please confirm with Marion CAILLOL: marion.caillol@reedmidem.com.

Culture and shopping

Driven by changes in consumption patterns, there is a new trend that involves increasing interaction between retailing and culture. From partnerships to joint M&S strategies, what kinds of new collaborative models are emerging? Can culture play a key role in improving both the perception of and footfall in shopping centres?

Transit hubs

Special attention will also be given to retailing in transit hubs such as train stations and airports, where there has been significant growth of shopping centres in recent years.

A new space dedicated exclusively to retail in transit hubs (in Lerins Hall) will feature leading players, including A2C, Grandi Stazioni and ATRI (Associazione Travel Retail Italia) for presentation sessions.
