HelloPackage Selected as a Showcase Company at Venture Atlanta 2018

ATLANTA, Oct. 15, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- HelloPackage, the newly-launched and highly sophisticated package management system platform, is continuing the market launch of its package room technology as a Showcase Company at the Venture Atlanta conference on October 16 and 17.

Developed out of the Flashpoint startup engineering program at Georgia Tech, the HelloPackage system is designed to provide new levels of convenience and speed for all stakeholders in the last mile of eCommerce logistics, beginning with apartment communities now and other markets in the future. Carriers, retailers, apartment owners/staff, and residents all benefit from the integrated platform. HelloPackage is a custom designed SaaS system with an enabling, plug and play hardware component. The solution is comprised of software that is designed to allow carriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS, DHL, Amazon, and others) to quickly and easily deliver packages to a centralized package room at an apartment community, and at the same time notify the recipient that their package has arrived.

The hardware consists of patent pending custom-designed smart shelving with advanced sensors, label reading and surveillance cameras, check-in tablets, and local processing and communications equipment. HelloPackage uses sophisticated sensors, computer vision, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to make package delivery safe for packages and people.

The system achieves up to five times the package density compared to package locker solutions and is much more expandible. HelloPackage is effectively an erector set and can easily grow as the volume, size, weight, and shapes of packages and the number/variety of carriers increases at apartment communities. HelloPackage was built to handle this growing complexity using millions of lines of software and task-specific hardware. All of this, so that apartment leasing staff can stay out of the package handling business and focus on their main job of leasing apartments.

The system is very fast for carriers and allows them to check-in a package in less than 10 seconds without climbing stairs or bothering the staff in the leasing office. Recipients are then notified via the HelloPackage app, text message or email that their package is ready for pick up, provided a one-time use code for package room entry, and are given a picture of the package. Recipients can get their package in less than 60 seconds once they enter the package room. The system also makes it easy for the residents to do their eCommerce returns right in the community. This is expected to be a highly desirable convenience for residents.
