Henry Lacostic, who made the nation even more aware of Muscular Dystrophy, passes away
LOWELL, Mass., Feb. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Henry Lacostic, the fun loving man who brought enormous attention to the disease known as Muscular Dystrophy, passed away on February 24th from complications of it.

Henry Lacostic was born in Haverhill, Massachusetts to Brenda and James Lacostic, and he has two brothers, James, Jr. and Dean, as well as a sister, Rebecca.
During the 1980's and 1990's, Henry Lacostic hosted numerous fundraisers to bring attention to Muscular Dystrophy. An incredibly smart young man, he devoted a lot of time to social networking, and had on occasion created numerous websites to bring attention to what it was like to live in an iron lung.
At one point in time, he was flown to Los Angeles to meet Lee Horsley, the then star of the hit TV show "Matt Houston," through the Make A Wish Foundation. Henry had a strong belief in Jesus Christ, often referring to him in his various "Twitter" and "Facebook" postings.

It's not often that someone can truly leave this world knowing that they had never hurt anyone, and Henry never hurt a soul. For years he suffered with this condition, and we all honestly believe that he is now at a place where he is finally taking his first steps into a hereafter. He will be missed by too many to count, and has had a profound impact on the workings of The Muscular Dystrophy Association nationwide," said Enrique Grullon, speaking on behalf of family members.
A family member is in communication with The Muscular Dystrophy Association with the intent of the organization honoring Henry Lacostic for his lifelong struggle with the disease, and his accomplishments in bring attention to it.
