HILLSDALE, Mich., April 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Hillsdale College today announced that Kenneth J. Koopmans will serve as the College's new executive director of career services. With more than 15 years of experience, Koopmans will guide the College's efforts to help students make informed decisions about their college and post-graduate career.

Koopmans most recently served as the Hale Family Director of Career and Professional Development at a private liberal arts college in Connecticut, where he developed multiple programs that allowed for better engagement between the college, students and alumni.
He has worked as director of employer relations at Yale University, director of internship programs at Amherst College and associate director of career services at University of Portland, where he developed a new curriculum with the dean of the College of Arts & Sciences that continues to affect how students learn through their internship experience. For the last three years, Koopmans also served as the director for the Connecticut State Referee Program Academy.
A native of Long Island, New York, Koopmans earned his master's degree in counseling and college student development from Northeastern University and his bachelor's degree in political science and interpersonal communication from State University of New York at Oswego.
