HiLumz USA Named a TAG Top 40 Innovative Technology Company
Technology Association of Georgia honors 40 companies for innovation and contributions to the state's technology community
ATLANTA, March 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), the state's leading association dedicated to the promotion and economic advancement of Georgia's technology industry, today announced HiLumz USA as one of its Top 40 Innovative Technology Companies in Georgia. TAG will recognize this prestigious group at the 2015 Georgia Technology Summit (GTS) on March 25, 2015, at the Cobb Galleria Centre.
TAG'S Top 40 Awards recognize Georgia-based technology companies for their innovation, financial impact, and their efforts at spreading awareness of Georgia's technology initiatives throughout the U.S. and globally.
"The 2015 Top 40 finalists are an elite group of innovators who represent the very best of Georgia's Technology community," said Tino Mantella, president & CEO of TAG. "The 2015 Top 40 finalists are shining examples of what makes our State such a hotbed for technology and we applaud them for standing out as leaders in Georgia's technology community."
This year's Top 40 Companies were selected from among over 100 applications submitted by companies from across Georgia. Companies selected for the "Top 40" will be showcased in an exhibition at The 2015 Georgia Technology Summit.
"Our eleventh year of the Top 40 was an overwhelming success, based on the number of truly innovative companies that participated in the competition," said Dennis Zakas, a partner and founder of Zakas & Leonard, LLP, Chair of Group Office Buys, LLC, and chairperson of the Top 40 Selection Committee. "The Top 40 winners demonstrate the depth and breadth of Georgia's technology community."
HiLumz USA prides itself on being customer responsive. LED lighting technology is evolving at a rate similar to the early years of personal computer technology. Unlike the legacy multinational lighting companies, HiLumz USA can adapt to and integrate the latest technology as CREE and other HiLumz USA supply partners develop it. This results in longer product life cycles, lower costs and smaller sized fixtures and components. HiLumz USA has built its reputation by developing high lumen output, LED retrofit kits – the Diamonz® product series. These retrofit existing 100 Watt to 1,000 Watt HID fixtures. Retrofitting existing fixtures eliminates the need to pay for higher-priced LED fixtures and installation costs, obtain architectural approvals and government permits, and discard existing traditional fixtures into already over-burdened landfills. The Diamonz® retrofit kits provide superior modularity, flexibility and ease of installation through the use of its patent-pending FlexMount™ attachment system. The company's President, Mike Foody commented, "The LED lighting revolution is still in its infancy. While the large, commercial lighting manufacturers produce complete LED fixtures, the market is searching for LED options that are more economical and offer a substantially greener solution. Retrofits are the solution. In 2014, Diamonz® production was moved from China to Georgia. This has been a huge win for our customers. It has allowed us to more closely monitor quality control and increase performance of our products with the added benefit of increasing jobs in the state."
The 2015 Georgia Technology Summit is expected to draw a crowd of more than 1,300 C-level executives, entrepreneurs, technology professionals and academia to celebrate and recognize Georgia's technology community. In addition to presentations from some of the top technology influencers in the nation, the newest member of the Technology Hall of Fame of Georgia will be inducted.
