Hirschmann Solutions Announces New Modem Option and CE Certification for the ITAS: Iridium Transceiver Antenna System
New ITAS plug-and-play smart antenna includes the Iridium 9602 (N) SBD modem and is Iridium 2nd generation NEXT satellite constellation compatible.
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., May 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Hirschmann Solutions, a leading supplier of antenna and transceiver systems, expanded its Iridium Transceiver Antenna System (ITAS) product family with the new Iridium 9602 (N) modem option for heavy-duty trucking and equipment markets. Additionally, the entire product family is now CE Certified, as required for products covered by the Radio and Telecommunications Terminal Equipment (R&TTE) Directive for use in 31 European countries.

The new Hirschmann ITAS plug-and-play Iridium smart antenna product contains a high-performance antenna, Iridium 9602 (N) transceiver, power regulation and a serial communication interface to integrate global SBD communication for the best possible performance. It provides reliable data transmission for all asset management and safety-related applications, including heavy machinery tracking and telemetry, on- and off-highway vehicles traveling to remote locations or any asset requiring monitoring outside of the cellular infrastructure.
CE Certification is mandatory for communication products sold into the European Economic Area, consisting of the 27 Member States of the European Union (EU) and four European Free Trade Association countries.
Hirschmann's communication products are available directly from the company or through its distribution partners. Tailored product packages including Iridium airtime are available in cooperation with Hirschmann's partners.
