This campaign follows a Home Chef charitable initiative in late 2016 when Home Chef customers donated $80,000 to the Midwest Food Bank to support families around the company's Chicago headquarters and throughout the Midwest and Southeast United States.
"Nearly 50 million Americans live in households that lack the means to eat enough nutritious food regularly," said Pat Vihtelic, Founder and CEO of Home Chef. "As innovators in the food industry, we are excited to help address this overwhelming issue and to partner with forward-thinking charities like Heifer International."
"Heifer International is proud to partner with Home Chef and grateful to their customers for supporting our mission to end hunger and poverty," said Linda Rogers, Director of Corporate Marketing Alliances.
Heifer International takes a different approach to ending hunger by helping rural communities in the U.S. and around the world lift themselves out of poverty through farming. The charity provides animals and training to small scale farmers to both increase nutrition and create reliable income through the sale of agricultural products such as milk and eggs.
