hour.ly Launches Website to Get Americans Back to Work

NEW YORK, Sept. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- In honor of Labor Day, and the desire of all Americans to get the economy back on track, a new site, hour.ly (www.hour.ly), has been launched to provide employers and job seekers with a single destination for hourly, temporary & part time work.  Hour.ly goes beyond traditional job sites matching job seekers and employers on an ongoing basis, based on job type, availability, locale, hourly rate, accreditation and other key criteria.

With the US unemployment rate nearing 10%, ongoing uncertainty in the economy and lack of credit availability for small businesses, the ability for businesses to hire full time employees has been stymied, despite the need to operate. This shift has given rise to a new breed of hourly & temporary employees who do not benefit from existing career sites, and are left to look for jobs through a bevy of different sources, including, classified ads, community bulletin boards, online listing services, personal introductions and placement agencies.

"We are seeing the development of a new work environment, referred to as the 'Gig Economy', Americans hustling from one short-term gig to another in order to stay ahead. It has become work to find work. Our hope with hour.ly is to get people back to work in and efficient manner," said Brooke Dixon, Co-founder & CEO of hour.ly

Through hour.ly's platform, job seekers have the ability to create a detailed work profile, one time, and have it indexed so that it can be searched directly by employers, or matched against jobs posted to the system. Further job seekers can leverage their diverse skill set by listing multiple jobs that are of interest, in every US industry. Communication is instant, and can be geo-targeted, making it easy for employers to find workers locally and nationally, to get back to work.
