Jack Baldwin, of Marietta, GA, put his #73 RESET-MD Porsche Cayman S on the outside of the front row with a last lap flyer of 1:39.524 and an average speed of 85.004 MPH. "Qualifying is so important, especially in Detroit," stated Baldwin "so I was very happy to give the team the outside pole for the first race of the weekend."
In the first race of the weekend, Pirelli World Challenge GTS Round 5, Baldwin both started and finished second overall, earning his fourth podium finish of the 2014 season in just five races. Teammate Buz McCall, of Boca Raton, FL, driver of the GTSport #72 RESET-MD Porsche Cayman S, finished Round 5 in thirteenth position after moving up from a twentieth position start.
"RESET-MD by BACAS has a lot to offer the motorsports community and we are proud to carry their brand," stated RESET-MD's GTSport team driver Jack Baldwin. RESET-MD Senior Executive Vice President Melonie Butler added "we couldn't be happier with how well the partnership with GTSport is working out, and are extremely proud of the team's accomplishments so far this season! There is a lot of synergy between our teams' brands, and we are looking forward to continuing our support of the RESET-MD Porsche Cayman S team and racecars."
Additionally, the RESET-MD race team welcomed a special guest into its paddock for the weekend. Eleven year old Colin, who was diagnosed with a sensory processing disorder and another disorder similar to autism and Asperger syndrome, told his mother Jennifer that he didn't want a birthday party this year because there was "no point" and that he "had no friends." In response, Jennifer created a Facebook page for her "amazing, wonderful son" to help him celebrate with the support and well-wishes from people all over the world. The page quickly gained popularity and now Colin has over two-million "friends." Last weekend, Colin, along with his family, joined RESET-MD and GTSport as guests of honor for an amazing day of racing, behind-the-scenes action, and of course, friendship and fun.
