Adoption Non Profit Let It Be Us Partners With State of Illinois To Increase Awareness of Adopting from Foster Care; Finding Homes for Waiting Kids
BARRINGTON, Ill., April 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Adoption opportunities with the State of Illinois are being featured at a special, first of its kind event, on Saturday, April 11 9 am – 12 pm at the Barrington Area Library at 505 Northwest Highway, Barrington, Ill.
Sponsored by Let It Be Us (www.letitbeus.org), a 501c3 not for profit dedicated to assisting children in foster care, the event will showcase adoption opportunities with the State of Illinois via a panel discussion, question and answer system and presentations by those with work with children awaiting homes.
Illinois is home to 3,300 children within the foster care system who are legally available for adoption. These children are all ages, stages and ethnicities. Unlike agency or foreign adoption, adoption from foster care is without cost and without discrimination based on age, gender, income, marital status or sexual orientation. To adopt these children it is important to be a good citizen, have a desire to be a parent and have a good, strong, loving heart.
Featured at this information driven event will be:
- The Illinois Heart Gallery, a photography exhibit of waiting children.
- Adoption recruiters from the State of Illinois
- Adoption recruiters from a nonprofit agency working with babies and smaller children
- A young couple who have adopted their first child from the State of Illinois
"We have built a strong and innovative bridge between the children available for adoption through the State of Illinois and the potential adoptive parents," Susan McConnell, Founder of Let It Be Us. "We look forward to bringing more prospective parents into the adoption community.
