Hudson Group Opens New, Upscale Shops in JFK Terminal 1
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., April 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of the program to enhance the shopping experience in JFK, Hudson Group has inaugurated a dynamic new retail program in JFK Terminal 1. The new stores – Michael Kors, Juicy Couture, Tumi and Victoria's Secret – are all now open for business. A new Harley-Davidson store (developed in conjunction with "Miracle Mile" Harley of Great Neck, Long Island) will open this summer. All stores will be operated by Hudson Group.
The new Michael Kors shop, the brand's first free-standing shop in any airport, is 934 sq. ft. devoted to the stylish, buttery-soft handbags and accessories of New York City's own Michael Kors, who has emerged in recent years as one of the most recognized and respected designers of American sportswear.
The new Juicy Couture shop, (940 sq. ft.), is the second Juicy in the airport (the first opened in Terminal 7 last year). Juicy, which is known for making the velour tracksuit an icon of casual luxury, has expanded its collection beyond women's and girls' apparel to include handbags, shoes, intimates, swimwear, accessories, sunglasses, yoga, fragrance and baby merchandise.
The Victoria's Secret shop (1,478 sq. ft.) is the company's third free-standing Victoria's Secret airport store in the US. (A smaller store opened in Terminal 4 in 2009 and another opened in Vancouver International Airport last year.).The stores offer travelers a wide assortment of Victoria's Secret beauty products, fragrances, and branded accessories, including small leather goods, bags and luggage, as well as apparel, in a sophisticated and glamorous setting.
As the leading international brand of luxury travel, business and lifestyle accessories, the Tumi concept is a natural in any airport environment. The new 544 sq. ft. shop in Terminal 1 offers superbly engineered luggage, business cases, handbags, wallets, sunglasses and writing instruments in a compact footprint. This is Hudson's second Tumi shop in JFK; the first is located in Terminal 7.
In addition to the specialty retail program, Hudson will next focus on new Hudson News stores throughout the airport.
