Hunt Auctions Brings a Honus Wagner Tobacco Card Proof Strip and a Sports Memorabilia Appraisal Fair to 2010 MLB All-Star FanFest in Anaheim
EXTON, Pa., July 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Hunt Auctions is hosting its annual Live Auction & Appraisal Fair at Major League Baseball All-Star FanFest in Anaheim as part of the Major League Baseball All-Star Week activities. The Appraisal Fair will be taking place on Friday, July 9th through Monday, July 12th, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Pacific Time, at the Anaheim Convention Center. Honus Wagner Card Proof Strip on the auction block:
The Hunt Auctions Appraisal Fair will run up until bidding begins at the Live Auction at MLB All-Star FanFest on Tuesday, July 13th at 10AM. A Honus Wagner T206 Tobacco Card proof strip will be the star attraction in the live auction of near 700 pieces of baseball history. The proof strip is the lone surviving example of the 1909-11 T-206 Honus Wagner card in the original uncut format which was discovered among some of Honus Wagner's personal belongings in the Wagner family estate. The Honus Wagner item is expected to exceed $250,000.
Other pieces of interest include a Mickey Mantle game used 1951 World Series bat (est. $100,000-$150,000), Whitey Ford's 1961 Cy Young Award (est. $150,000-$200,000), a Jackie Robinson bat c. 1953 (est. $30,000-$40,000) and a Joe DiMaggio bat c. 1941-42 (est. $25,000-$35,000). All auction items will be on display during the five days of MLB All-Star FanFest beginning July 9th.
