HVACR Industry Offers Free Training Sessions for HVACR Teachers
HVACR Workforce Development Foundation Hosts Industry Conference March 9-11, 2015
ARLINGTON, Va., Nov. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Free registrations for the HVACR & Mechanical Conference for Education Professionals (www.careersinhvacr.org) are now available for this year's conference, to help instructors of training and apprenticeship programs in HVACR and water heating to learn the latest technological advancements and improve their training and teaching skills.
The free registrations for HVACR and water heating teachers are being sponsored by the HVACR Workforce Development Foundation, an industry-funded non-profit focused on developing a robust and highly-skilled workforce in the HVACR and related technical fields.
The conference will be March 9-11, 2015, at the Conference Center at the Maritime Institute in Linthicum Heights, Maryland (near the BWI airport in Baltimore).
For 20 years, this conference has provided peer-to-peer training for secondary and post-secondary instructors in the field of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration and other highly-skilled mechanical training. In keeping with past practice, there is no registration fee. Attendees who register before January 30, 2015, will also be automatically entered into a drawing for complimentary hotel/meals (three-night maximum).
Kari. M. Arfstrom, Ph.D. was named as executive director to the HVACR Workforce Development Foundation October 1, 2015 and will lead the Foundation through its new charge to promote apprenticeships, certifications and degrees in the areas of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration and other highly-skilled mechanical training.
"My entire career has been spent supporting teaching efforts and promoting career development, so I'm very excited to lead the Foundation's push to improve both the understanding and perceptions of these critical industry careers," said Arfstrom. "These are well-paying, entrepreneurial industries with great career opportunities, especially for young people."
