TORONTO, March 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ - Hydro One Limited ("Hydro One" or the "Company") (TSX: H), Ontario's largest electricity transmission and distribution company, today announced that it has filed a preliminary universal short form base shelf prospectus with securities regulatory authorities in each of the provinces and territories of Canada. The base shelf prospectus, when made final, will allow Hydro One to offer, from time to time in one or more public offerings, up to $8.0 billion of debt, equity or other securities, or any combination thereof, during the 25-month period that the base shelf prospectus is effective. The base shelf prospectus will also qualify the secondary offering of common shares and preferred shares by the Province of Ontario (the "Province"). Hydro One filed this base shelf prospectus in part to facilitate future offerings of shares of the Company by the Province and in order to provide the Company with financing flexibility going forward. The specific terms of any future offering will be established in a prospectus supplement to the base shelf prospectus filed at the time of such offering.
