MONTREAL, June 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ - Hydro-Québec announces that it has negotiated a new issue of US$ 1,000,000,000 on the world market, Series JO, maturing on June 30, 2016.
The debentures, guaranteed by Québec, dated June 30, 2011, will bear interest at 2.00%, payable semi-annually, on June 30 and December 30 of each year.
The debentures will be distributed simultaneously on the Canadian, American, European and Asian markets by an international group of underwriters. They will be offered on the market at a price of 99.981 % to yield 2.004%.
BofA Merrill Lynch, HSBC, National Bank of Canada Financial and RBC Capital Markets will be joint lead managers.
BMO Capital Markets, BNP PARIBAS, CIBC, Deutsche Bank Securities and Scotia Capital will be the senior co-managers of the issue.
Casgrain & Company (USA) Limited, Desjardins Capital Markets, J.P. Morgan, Mitsubishi UFJ Securities, RBS, SOCIETE GENERALE and TD Securities will act as co-managers.
It is Hydro-Québec's second U.S. dollar global issue and its first issue in U.S. dollars since 2001.
