Hyundai and NAACP host Backpack Giveaway

1,000 backpacks for Baltimore area school students during the 2017 NAACP Annual Convention

BALTIMORE, July 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Hyundai Motor America in cooperation with the NAACP will distribute 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies for children in the Baltimore community. The backpacks and related school supplies will be distributed on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the Baltimore Convention Center in conjunction with the 108^th NAACP annual convention. The event attendees will be joined by representatives from the Baltimore Mayor's Office, community leaders, and non-profit community organizations in the area.

The Hyundai Back-to-School Backpack Giveaway is a part of the company's ongoing commitment to giving back to local communities. Children in the Baltimore area will receive these basic school supplies and have the opportunity to interact with civic leaders. This is a part of both organizations' commitment to education and community support.

In addition to the backpack give away, Hyundai will sponsor the NAACP Youth and College Division for a special event. Legendary Hip-Hop artists, Curtis Blow, Cool Mo Dee, and Kid Capri will perform for the youth conference participants.
