Hyundai Motor America Reports Best Sales Year In Its History

- Best All-Time Sales Month for Genesis sedan and Tucson

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Jan. 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Hyundai Motor America posted its best year ever with sales of 761,710, up five percent compared with 2014 and this marks sixth consecutive year of record U. S. sales.  For the month of December, sales were down 1.5 percent

"Hyundai once again experienced a record year and the CUV segment proved to be the star," said Derrick Hatami, vice president of national sales for Hyundai Motor America. "Not only did Tucson end the year with sales up 34 percent, but for the month of December we experienced a 167 percent sales gain over last December.  For the year, Santa Fe was up nine percent."

Hyundai Sonata and Genesis sedans saw sales increases for the month of December, up 27 and 15 percent, respectively.
