I-Flow to Host Educational Symposium on Post-Operative Pain Management for Joint Replacement in Ambulatory Surgery Centers at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting
Innovative approach to post-operative pain management with the ON-Q Pain Relief System leads to quicker recovery with less need for narcotics
NEW ORLEANS, March 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- AAOS -- I-Flow, LLC, a Kimberly-Clark Health Care Company and manufacturer of the ON-Q Pain Relief System (ON-Q), today announced that ON-Q will be featured during an educational symposium at the 81st American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) Annual Meeting in New Orleans, LA.
Pain management is a critical element of recovery for surgical patients. Ineffective post-operative pain management can impair healing and recovery and may result in complications, longer hospital stays or readmissions.
The symposium, "Joint Replacements in ASCs: It's Time!" will include a case study of progressive post-operative pain management for joint replacement patients at ambulatory surgery centers.
Using the ON-Q Pain Relief System, a non-narcotic, portable pain relief pump that utilizes a local anesthetic to manage post-operative pain, select total hip or knee replacements are able to be performed in the outpatient setting. The symposium speakers will discuss how this breakthrough approach to post-operative care is possible with ON-Q and the close collaboration of the surgical, anesthesiology, nursing, physical therapy and pharmacy teams.
The symposium will be offered in two breakfast sessions. Details are included below:
