The Cleveland Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) and Barbara Brown, principal and co-owner of BrownFlynn, will provide an in-depth look at what communications professionals should know about environmental marketing and the new Federal Trade Commission Green Guidelines during the association's January breakfast event.

Brown will inform attendees about changes to the FTC's green guidelines, which establish general principles that apply to all sales and promotional activities and provide direction on particular environmental marketing claims. The revised guidelines are important to marketing and communications professionals as they advise them about the pitfalls of using terms such as "environmentally friendly" or "eco-friendly."
The program, titled, "Environmentally Speaking," is open to both members and non-members. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, January 11 at Trinity Commons from 8 – 9:30 am.
