BOSTON, June 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
Dr Peter Harrop, a leading expert on electric vehicles and Chairman of IDTechEx, will be presenting on the energy independent electric vehicle technology roadmap at the 29th Electric Vehicle Symposium & Exhibition (EVS29), Montréal. Dr Harrop's talk will be part of the "Building the Electric Drive Ecosystem" session on Tuesday 21 June, 9.30-11am.
Energy independent electric vehicles (EIV) are EVs that have almost unlimited range because they never need to pick up electricity. They make their own electricity from on-board solar cells, regenerative breaking and other forms of energy harvesting. They should now be taken seriously as a potentially huge business and technology generator. EIVs already exist as land, water and airborne vehicles, some needing no energy storage. Investment in them is at the billion dollar level and they are already spinning off technology start-ups exploiting their inventions into wider markets. For more see the IDTechEx Research reports "Energy Independent Vehicles 2016-2026" and "Energy Independent Electric Vehicle Technology Roadmap 2016-2036".
IDTechEx will also be exhibiting on the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) UK Pavilion (booth 508) at EVS29 from 19-21 June 2016. To arrange a meeting please contact Raoul Escobar-Franco, Business Development Director, at raoul@IDTechEx.com.
