"Our goal is to help visitors avoid that dreaded 'lost' feeling when traveling via Rome or Milan's public transit systems," commented lead developer Fabrizio Bartolomucci. "The latest version of In Arrivo builds on the app's strong foundation with several new features."
In Arrivo leverages GPS technology to instantly guide travelers without the need to manually input time or location. Users' iOS devices display all nearby stops, along with waiting times and destinations for each transit line. A new filtering feature allows users to streamline the display, only seeing stops and lines of interest. Feedback on prior versions indicated display problems in crowded areas; the filter effectively solves that issue.
The new version of In Arrivo also introduces a ride-sharing option. Users preferring not to wait for a bus or pay for a taxi may request a lift from nearby users in cars; their location and chosen destination appear as routes to drivers within a 5 kilometer radius.
Under the hood, In Arrivo now boasts better performance and stability thanks to a restructuring of the stops management system. Stops load faster and the visualization process is notably smoother.
Each new version of In Arrivo has been motivated by the desire to produce not only a practical app, but also a great experience for all users. Community suggestions as well as iOS updates have been the driving force behind each new version.
