ARLINGTON, Va., Sept. 21, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- This week, incoming American Trucking Associations' Chairman Kevin Burch, president of Jet Express Inc., will participate in a roundtable discussion hosted by the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee's Highways and Transit Subcommittee on the impact of the freight provisions in last year's highway bill.
"Ensuring dedicated funding for highway freight projects was an important victory for ATA and the trucking industry in the FAST Act," Burch said. "Having good, uncongested highways is important to my company and to trucking companies across the country."
The roundtable will be hosted by Rep. Sam Graves (R-Mo.), chairman of the subcommittee on highways and transit, at 10 a.m. on September 22 in Room 2167 of the Rayburn House Office Building.
"We agree with Chairman Graves and the committee that we can and must do more to maintain our competitive advantage in the global economy, the funds in last year's bill are a good start," Burch said. "Discussions like this are how we can move beyond that good start to an improved, more robust highway bill the next time."
