SEATTLE, Oct. 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The "Incredible Works Here" multimedia marketing campaign launches today, featuring stories about revolutionary ways Seattleites are changing the world. The marketing effort tells the stories of diverse cultural, philanthropic and business strengths in the Seattle region. For instance, aerospace companies are reinventing wing shapes and plane materials to make flying more reliable and ecologically sensitive, retailers are finding new ways to deliver products and raising the level of great customer services, and technology visionaries are using virtual reality to create experiences that will make education and individual experiences remarkable.
The campaign is not just about business. It also highlights the region's unique culture and progressive approach to living and enhancing communities. Campaign stories underscore the region's leadership that paved the way for marriage equality, nationally recognized chefs who are making Seattle a culinary mecca, world-renowned artists who continue to inspire, whether in glass art or hip-hop, and researchers at Fred Hutchinson Research Center who are finding new ways to combat cancer. The "Incredible" campaign celebrates the many people throughout Seattle who are transforming the world.
"Seattle is a great place, but our humble nature is holding us back," said Christine Gregoire, CEO of Challenge Seattle. "There's something special happening in Seattle right now. There's a level of innovation and energy that you don't see anywhere else. The problem is, we in Seattle don't realize how amazing and creative our community is. We want to reflect what our region's strengths are - from the great outdoors to innovation to our ability to dream big and bold. We want to make sure people know we're THE place to live, work and play."
Using digital and print ads, a website and social media, the "Incredible Works Here" campaign celebrates the region's people, its diversity, and the environment. The campaign's goal is to raise awareness of Seattle's innovative culture and dispel outdated perceptions about its community and economy. Ads will start in Seattle in October and run throughout the fall with the intent to run nationally in 2017.
"Other parts of the country and world still think we're a sleepy, far-away city with lots of rain and coffee, but we're so much more," said Phyllis Campbell, Chairman, Pacific Northwest for JP Morgan Chase. "Seattle's innovative spirit influences everything that is done here," continued Campbell. "Seattle retailers transformed how we order coffee, books and airplane tickets. Global health research is transforming lives around the globe as well as in the nation, and our pristine natural environment and recreational opportunities make us an amazing place to live. I think people are going to be surprised and proud of the exciting things happening in our region," she added.
