Industry leader NTR Metals® LLC vindicated in lawsuit brought by five in Chicago

DALLAS, Oct. 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- NTR Metals (NTR) is a world leader in precious metals. With over 60 locations worldwide, NTR serves the refining, market-making, and bullion needs of over 20,000 precious-metals companies, from independent jewelers and dealers to large corporations.

In July 2010, five pawn and gold-buyer businesses filed a lawsuit against NTR in Chicago, Illinois. They alleged improper business practices relative to their sale of metal to NTR, and total damages of less than $5,800 over the course of 8 transactions.

NTR denied these allegations, asserting that the plaintiffs conspired to bring a frivolous lawsuit solely for the purpose of harming NTR's business reputation. 

During the discovery process, NTR revealed that a document filed by plaintiffs with the Court appeared to have been altered.  And after NTR questioned the plaintiffs under oath about their allegations and the origin of the lawsuit, all five of them dismissed their claims with prejudice. NTR paid nothing to the plaintiffs or their attorneys.
