LITTLETON, Colo., Jan. 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Infinite Power Solutions (IPS) today will be recognized as one of Colorado's Companies to Watch (COCTW) at its Littleton facility, today starting at 2 p.m.  IPS received this accolade late summer of last year, and as part of the award, iTruss Solutions will sponsor an event at IPS' campus.  The event will include the formal presentation of the COCTW certificate, speeches from iTruss Solutions, Jefferson County officials, and IPS executives, and facility and manufacturing line tours.  As a national program founded by the Edward Lowe Foundation, a COCTW title is bestowed to those businesses that are developing valuable products and services, creating quality jobs, enriching communities, and building new industries throughout Colorado.

IPS' new CEO, James Norrod, noted, "Given the caliber of businesses that reside in this state, we are extremely honored to receive this award and be among some of Colorado's elite.  It speaks volumes to the growing demand globally for our safe, reusable and 'clean' batteries that deliver a lifetime of power to micro-electronic systems without the prohibitive cost of battery replacement, maintenance and recycling."  He added, "This achievement was made possible by our talented team—their efforts over the past few years have shaped IPS into what it is today, so this celebration is for them."

In addition to being evaluated on past growth and projected success, IPS was judged according to its special strengths. These strengths revolve around a company's innovative products and business practices, special use of technology, work within their community and more.  Colorado Companies to Watch also weighs the value of creating good quality jobs, diverse industries, and state-wide representation.  Companies to Watch, a national program founded by the Edward Lowe Foundation, is different from many existing awards programs.  Because the program focuses on an entire state and is not industry-specific, it provides an opportunity to paint a realistic picture of a true state-wide economy.  Since applicants are evaluated on more than growth, it widens the playing field to companies not often recognized for the critical differences they make in their industry, their community, region and state.

A Colorado Companies to Watch second-stage company is one that is privately held, headquartered in Colorado, is growth focused, has 6 to 99 full-time equivalent employees, and has annual revenue of $750,000 to $50 million. This criteria for second-stage companies, developed by the Edward Lowe Foundation, was adopted by the Colorado Companies to Watch advisory board after conducting research to determine that companies that meet this criteria account for most of the economic growth, community development and economic independence of individuals, not only in Colorado but nationally.
