BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Sept. 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- For the second consecutive year, Influential, a Data-First social media influencer platform, has partnered with the United Nations to launch a social media awareness campaign on the International Day of Peace (September 21st). Influential is implementing its industry leading, Watson-enabled technology and activating many of its top social influencers to launch the #HugForPeace campaign. The campaign aims to mobilize as many people as possible to commit to 24 hours of peace in their city, by coming together with a very simple action: a hug.
To identify the most ideal influencers for the campaign, Influential, an IBM Watson developer partner, will tap into IBM Watson, a cognitive computing platform. Using IBM Watson's Personality Insights service, Influential will identify influencers whose social media accounts rate highly for traits like altruism, self-transcendence, emotionality, and dutifulness. Watson can identify these traits by analyzing the last 22,000 pieces of written content that an influencer has publicly released on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
Once identified, influencers will spread the #HugForPeace message across all of their social platforms and will drive their followers to visit www.HugForPeace.org, a microsite where supporters can create user-generated photos with a #HugForPeace design overlay that they can then share via Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
