Leading motorhome insurance providers, Comfort Insurance have released an infographic that details the popularity of UK motorhome and caravanning holidays.

As the majority of motorhome and caravan owners are maintaining their vehicles over the winter, a large number of people will be looking forward to hitting the road again after Christmas. Comfort's latest infographic illustrates the popularity of motorhome and caravanning holidays and also popular camping destinations so holiday makers can get some ideas for their next trip.  

The increasing price of traditional holidays, flights and currency can make it harder for couples and families to travel abroad. Ben Cue , Comfort Insurance's Strategical Development Manager, says, "Hitting the road can be much cheaper than a traditional family holiday as you only need to pay for fuel and food supplies, as well as the incremental cost of staying in a campsite, whilst other holidays can involve expensive flights, accommodation, restaurants and car hire."

One of the infographic stats shows that there are over 2,000 licenced holiday/touring parks in the UK which is 20 times the number of service stations.
