Informa Announces Second Annual Clinical and Research Excellence Awards
BOSTON, December 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
Informa's Pharma Intelligence - the world's leading provider of clinical and research intelligence and analysis, and home of leading brands such as Sitetrove, In Vivo, Pink Sheet, Scrip and Biomedtracker - announced today that the second annual Clinical and Research Excellence Awards - or CARE Awards - are now open for nominations.
Following on the successful launch of the inaugural CARE Awards earlier this year, the event, which will recognize the outstanding achievements of the global clinical research enterprise, returns to The State Room in Boston on Wednesday, April 5, 2017.
"We are pleased to host The CARE awards once again, and continue to applaud the brilliant minds and leaders whose actions and achievements exemplify clinical and research excellence," says Doro Shin, Pharma Intelligence's Thought Leadership Manager.
The CARE Awards features 12 categories that highlight innovation and success in drug development, as well as the dynamic nature of the pharma industry. In acknowledgement of the evolving R&D landscape, new categories are being introduced to reward achievements within rare disease drug development, patient centricity in trials as well as outcomes research. "Excellence and innovation are two sides of the same coin. The addition of these new categories is intended to recognize the novel advances that the industry is taking to address important issues in drug development," states Karen Currie, Executive Director of Trialtrove, Sitetrove, and Pharmaprojects.
"The acronym 'CARE' was carefully chosen. It embodies the human element of clinical and research excellence. It shows commitment and dedication, and it echoes the deep empathy for human suffering that drives our work," explains Linda Blackerby, Head of Pharma Intelligence.
Nominations for the CARE Awards is free and all submissions should be made via the online entry form available at http://www.clinicalresearchexcellence.com. A panel of distinguished industry experts will rigorously assess entries and decide upon winners in each of the categories for the 2017 CARE Awards.
In addition to the newly added categories, the second annual CARE awards will continue to showcase other key accomplishments, including excellence in trial conduct and design, technological advancements, and collaborative efforts between individuals, departments, or companies through the following categories:
- Most Successful Early Phase Trial (Preclinical & Phase I)
- Excellence in Rare Disease Drug Development
- Best Patient Centric Clinical Trial
- Pharma/Biotech Product Development Team of the Year
- Most Innovative Clinical Trial Design
- Clinical Trial Result of the Year
- Best Patient-Focused Technological Development
- Best Sponsor-Focused Technological Development
- Clinical Partnership of the Year
- Best in Outcomes Research
- Lifetime Achievement
- Marquee Award 'R&D Excellence'
"Clinical and research excellence has many different interpretations and meanings to everyone, but the underlying thread is the people and organizations who drive the advancement of new therapies with the hope of making human lives better," adds Shin. "We welcome entries from across the globe, and with our esteemed panel of judges, look forward to celebrating the achievements of both the award winners as well as the nominees in April."
