Inner Door Center®, The World's Only Yoga-Based Eating Disorder Treatment Center In Royal Oak, Michigan, Holds Expert Panel On The Relationship Between Eating Disorders And Substance Abuse
ROYAL OAK, Mich., Feb. 12, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- During National Eating Disorder Awareness Month, Inner Door Center® (317 East Eleven Mile Rd. Royal Oak, Mich. 48067) will be holding a Families Matter in Eating Disorder and Substance Abuse Expert Panel event on February 26, 2015 to draw attention to the prevalence of these difficult conditions.
The panel discussion will include experts on the subjects of eating disorders and substance abuse from Inner Door Center®. Nearly one half of women who suffer from an eating disorder also suffer from substance abuse. When the two are present together, the resulting illness causes a much more damaging outcome. Family members are significant in the recovery process and need to become aware of the issues so they can better help their loved ones.
"Our staff is highly creative and skilled in integrating treatment for eating disorders and substance use disorders. Most importantly, they excel at forming relationships thus building trust with our clients," says Beverly Price, CEO and Founder, a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP).
