InnovAge And Susan Sarandon Launch Campaign To Create Awareness Of Resources To Help Seniors Age In Their Communities
The "Aging in Place" campaign provides tips and information to seniors and caregivers
DENVER, May 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Senior care provider InnovAge and Academy Award winner Susan Sarandon today launched the "Aging in Place" campaign, which educates seniors and caregivers about the resources available to help aging adults live as long as possible in their homes and communities.
"The number of adults in the U.S. aged 50 and over is expected to grow to 132 million by 20301 and we know seniors who are able to grow old in their own homes and communities are more likely to have a better quality of life," said Maureen Hewitt, president and CEO of InnovAge. "We developed 'Aging in Place' to provide tools, including an online personal assessment to help identify the best ways for seniors to stay in their homes as long and as safely as possible."
Sarandon knows first-hand the difficulties of caring for a loved one. Even with her resources, Sarandon struggled to find the best services for her 92-year-old mother Lenora. Sarandon shares her story and those of other InnovAge participants at www.InnovAgeCares.com.
