Lloyd, Ph.D., Associate Dean of Executive Education for the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University (SMU) to its National Board of Directors. In his current position, Dr. Lloyd creates and implements SMU's executive education business growth strategy. He was instrumental in the launch of the James M. Collins Executive Education Center, one of the nation's premier learning facilities for working professionals.
Prior to SMU, Dr. Lloyd served as Vice President of Executive Education for Thunderbird School of Global Management. Before Thunderbird, Dr. Lloyd was a human resources management executive with General Motors, focused primarily on employee and organization development. Highlights of his career include organization development and leadership training for GM Europe. He was the first GM Human Resources Manager assigned to New United Motor Manufacturing, Inc. (NUMMI), the historic joint venture between GM and Toyota noted for its innovative labor-management relations and the introduction of Toyota production and human relations methods.
Dr. Lloyd was a Fulbright lecturer at the University of Isfahan in Iran and served as a U.S. Information Agency curriculum consultant for Germany. He earned a master's degree at Purdue University and a Ph. D. at the University of Iowa. He holds an undergraduate degree from Occidental College.
Dr. Lloyd is an emeritus board member of UNICON, the International University Consortium for Executive Education.
