SAN DIEGO, Nov. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The San Diego Chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) will host a special event on Thursday, November 21, featuring "DOs and DON'Ts" advice for public companies from respected buy-side and sell-side analysts and fund managers. This is a unique opportunity for investor relations professionals, corporate officers, legal and financial services providers, and others to get insights from financial analysts and institutional investors. The program will feature an interactive discussion followed by a networking session. Participants will have the opportunity to network with others and collaborate on ideas.
Buy-Side Panelists
Justin Ferayorni, CFA, Tamarack Capital Management
Mr. Ferayorni has served as Managing Member and Chief Investment Officer since founding Tamarack Capital Management in 2005. Previously, he served in several roles as a specialist in the healthcare industry throughout his career, including investment management, research and banking, most recently at Bricoleur Capital Management. Mr. Ferayorni holds a bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Princeton University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Alexis Waadt, MBA, Wall Street Associates
Ms. Waadt is a Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Wall Street Associates, where she is responsible for the analysis of individual securities and industry trends in the technology sector. Prior to joining the firm in 1997, she worked in institutional sales at Hambrecht and Quist and as an analyst at Foresters Equity Services. Ms. Waadt earned her MBA from San Diego State University and her bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of California, San Diego.

Michael Pachter, JD, MBA, Wedbush Securities
Mr. Pachter is a Managing Director and Research Analyst at Wedbush Securities, covering the entertainment software, entertainment retail, social internet and e-commerce and movies and entertainment sectors. Earlier in his career, Mr. Pachter spent 15 years at Atlantic Richfield Company, most recently as Director of Strategic Planning. Mr. Pachter obtained a JD from Pepperdine University, an MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA, a LLM in Taxation from the University of Florida and a bachelor's degree in Political Science from California State University, Northridge.
Greg Wade, PhD, Wedbush Securities
Dr. Wade is a Managing Director and Research Analyst at Wedbush Securities, focused on emerging pharmaceutical companies and the biodefense sector. He has worked on the sell-side since early 2000, first at Pacific Growth Equities and subsequently at Wedbush, where he was promoted to Managing Director in 2011. He began his career on the industry side, most recently in business development at Isis Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Wade obtained a PhD in Physiology and a bachelor's degree in Medical BioPhysics from the University of Western Ontario.
