Planning what to do on vacation often involves time-consuming research consulting multiple sources-websites, friends, and maybe some guidebooks. Inspirock founders Anoop Goyal and Prakash Sikchi aim to be the first to solve this problem with personalized sightseeing itineraries for trips around the globe.

Covering the United States and Europe represents a major milestone in their mission. "If you can handle two continents, you can handle the world," Sikchi says.

Inspirock collects and maintains detailed data on hundreds of thousands of attractions spread across thousands of destinations in the United States and Europe. The website evaluates millions of possibilities and instantly creates a day-by-day sightseeing itinerary based on user preferences. Users can tweak their itinerary as much as they'd like.

If a user starts with a country or region, Inspirock recommends which cities to visit, in what order, and how long to stay at each. Within cities, the website recommends which attractions to visit, in what order, and how long to spend at each.

Based in Palo Alto, CA, Inspirock.com is a privately held company founded in 2012. The website, which allows users to create personalized sightseeing itineraries, launched in summer 2014 with France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom and recently added the United States. While on one of their frequent backpacking trips, founders Prakash Sikchi and Anoop Goyal decided to launch a company that would use technology to make it easier for people to travel.
