STAMFORD, Conn., Dec. 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Stamford Health announced the first of several Stamford Health Medical Group practices to open in the new Stamford Integrated Care Pavilion (ICP), located at 29 Hospital Plaza on the Stamford Health main campus. The first practices available for patients are the Stamford Health Medical Group (SHMG) Electrophysiology, Cardiology, and Thoracic Surgery offices, which are located on the 5th floor of the ICP. During the next several weeks, additional SHMG practices and hospital-based services also will open.
The 97,000-sq.-ft. ICP was developed by MedCraft Healthcare Real Estate, LLC, a national developer of ambulatory care and medical office buildings. The facility features three levels of clinical offices on top of a 382-parking space deck – all connected to the new Stamford Hospital via a glass enclosed skyway. The project team also included Suffolk Construction and WHR Architects.
When fully operational, the ICP will provide access to various specialists and services, including colorectal surgery; gynecologic/oncology; additional heart and vascular services including cardiac surgery, structural heart program and cardiac testing; imaging and lab services; infectious disease care; internal medicine; neurology; obstetrics; physical medicine; pulmonary function testing and urology – as well as Stamford Health's unique wound care and hyperbaric medicine center, which will move to the ICP in January.
"MedCraft brought a unique expertise and confidence to develop the ICP on our campus and a vision for new methods and delivery models that support our patient-centered clinical needs," said Cindy Fitzgerald, CPA, MHA, vice president and chief operating officer, Stamford Health Medical Group. "Together we envisioned the future of healthcare and created an environment for patients while enabling greater collaboration by clinicians."
MedCraft and Stamford Health began this concept when the hospital system was developing its campus revitalization plan. The result is a new, multi-specialty, one-stop healthcare destination that is an extension of the Hospital's commitment to patient-centered care.
"The ICP represents a successful partnership of many teams to realize the vision for a unique, collaborative facility," said Stephen Buckeridge, MedCraft development principal. "We are honored to have helped bring to life an environment that embodies the vision that Stamford Health has for community-driven, patient-centered care for today and the future."
