Jonathan Levine selected to drive Intermedia's technology strategy with focus on customer and partner efficiency and reliability
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Jan. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Intermedia, a one-stop shop for cloud IT services for SMBs and the partners who serve them, announced today that Jonathan Levine, former Vice Chief Technology Officer of Rakuten, has joined the company as Chief Technology Officer.
Levine will focus on creating a holistic strategy that will enable Intermedia to accelerate the development of its new technology and products and improve operational efficiency, while maintaining the security and availability on which its customers depend.
"I am thrilled that Jonathan has decided to join us as CTO," said Phil Koen, CEO of Intermedia. "Jonathan's broad background will be critical in helping us determine the right set of technology capabilities as we evolve as a company."
For the past fourteen years, Levine has served in a number of senior leadership roles at Rakuten, a Japanese ecommerce and Internet company. Most recently, he was Rakuten's Vice-CTO [and the Vice Managing Director of Rakuten Group's Development Unit], where he was responsible for global technology and corporate infrastructure. Levine was also a board member of Fusion Communications, Rakuten's telecommunications carrier, ISP and public cloud subsidiary. During his tenure, Rakuten expanded from fewer than fifty employees to more than 10,000. Prior to his long career at Rakuten, Levine was co-founder and VP of Engineering at ePhysician.
"To successfully scale a company as broadly as Jonathan has with Rakuten is an incredible achievement," added Koen. "We're deeply excited to supplement our leadership team with Jonathan, who has tremendous experience with ensuring that the benefits of continuous product and technology development are fully shared with our customers and partners."
"Customers and partners choose Intermedia's Office in the Cloud™ because of the efficiencies of the one-stop shop model and the added value of its Worry-Free Experience™," said Levine. "I'm delighted to join the Intermedia team and eager to contribute to evolving our infrastructure to deliver value above and beyond the high standards for which we are already known."
