International Children's Art Exhibition Opens in Cincinnati
43rd annual travelling exhibition celebrates children's art from around the world
TORRANCE, Calif., Nov. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Art lovers looking for a watercolor painting of a clown eating pancakes drawn by a second grader in Wisconsin can stop their questing. The 43rd annual International Children's Art Exhibition, sponsored by writing instrument and art supply manufacturer Pentel of America®, will feature such wonderful expressions of children's creativity from around the world.
Founded by Tokyo-based parent company Pentel Company, Ltd in 1970, the International Children's Art Exhibition (ICAE) is open to children from age 3-13 from any country in the world. Most entries are submitted to one of the 19 worldwide subsidiaries of Pentel, such as Pentel of America, Ltd., based in Torrance, CA.
The 43rd ICAE received over 1,000 entries from the United States and 164 were awarded medals,
including six "Special Gold" awards reserved for the best among all entries from around the world.
The eight-month tour will stop in seven locations starting November 4, 2013 at the Summit Country Day School in Cincinnati, Ohio and ending at the Los Angeles County Library on June 29, 2014. For a full list of tour locations and dates, visit the company's web site at www.pentel.com/ICAE.
The entry period for the 44th ICAE is still open as well for budding artists that still want to enter next year's competition.
