International Isotopes Inc. Announces the Receipt of Its Air Permit From New Mexico Environment Department for the Company's Proposed Depleted Uranium De-conversion Facility
The issuance of the air permit by the New Mexico Environment Department completes State permitting required to allow start of the construction of the planned facility
HOBBS, N.M., April 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- International Isotopes Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: INIS), a leading manufacturer of nuclear medicine products, is pleased to announce it has received its air permit from the New Mexico Environment Department for the planned depleted uranium de-conversion and fluorine extraction processing facility. While other state permits are necessary prior to the commencement of operations; the State's issuance of this permit completes permitting actions required in New Mexico to allow the start of construction of the Company's "green technology" planned facility.
Steve T. Laflin, President and CEO of INIS stated, "We are extremely pleased with the completion of this important permitting milestone for the planned facility. We have found the staff of the New Mexico Environment Department to be very professional, thorough, and supportive of new environmentally conscience technologies such as ours. We appreciate their efforts on the timely completion of our application review and approval of the air permit for our facility. Although the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) license is not expected to be issued before sometime this fall, the NRC does allow certain pre-license construction activities to take place and the receipt of the New Mexico air permit clears the way, in terms of permitting, for certain pre-NRC license construction to begin."
