International Window Film Association Launches Social Communities Inviting People To Save Money, Energy and Live Healthier New Channels Connect Social Media Conversations With Real, Offline Action
WASHINGTON, Feb. 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- In a fresh approach to informing consumers on how they can save money, live healthier and 'greener' by having window film installed on their existing windows, the International Window Film Association (IWFA) is inviting consumers to engage in discussions across its new social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
"We see the combination of our social media and web pages, along with articles in traditional media channels, as an integrated 'one stop shop' to educating consumers on the many benefits of window film," said Darrell Smith, executive director of the nonprofit IWFA. "Social media make the conversation surrounding window film more accessible and consumer-friendly. Window Film is an affordable way to update living spaces and consumers deserve to know about it," he added.
Whether consumers want more money in their pocket or want to help reduce greenhouse gas levels, or prevent UV rays from impacting their health, window film can be a cost-effective means of getting the job done. Consider the following consumer 'want list' from the IWFA:
Want cool savings?
Savings on your cooling costs can reach up to 30 percent with window film.
Want to protect your health and furnishings?
UV rays entering the living area may fade furnishings, create hot spots and harm the skin, but window film can block up to 99 percent of harmful UV rays.
Want more money in your pocket?
For each dollar spent on window film, the money invested can provide more cost-effective energy savings when compared to replacement windows.
Want to make our planet greener?
Window film is a simple way to help reduce your energy use and when installed, it can assist in cutting the demand on utilities, which may further reduce carbon emissions.
