LOS ANGELES, Feb. 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Internationally bestselling author Marcus Sakey scored a rare and remarkable feat for an author by having three books simultaneously in the top 100 bestsellers on Amazon.

The three books, Brilliance, A Better World and Written in Fire are currently in the top 100 Kindle sales on Amazon and have been for weeks. At this pace, The Brilliance Trilogy is on track to pass 1 million copies sold.

Written in Fire, the final book in the Brilliance Trilogy, was published on January 12, 2016.  The first two books (Brilliance and A Better World) have sold almost 700,000 copies.

Written in Fire has already become a major bestseller for Amazon, appearing as high as #2 on the Kindle charts.  Brilliance has also been a major international bestseller.

The Brilliance Trilogy focuses on an alternate present-day Earth where 1% of people are born with extraordinary mental abilities.  The series follows a federal agent and 'brilliant' who must hunt his own kind to try to prevent a devastating civil war.

Prominent novelists like Gillian Flynn, Michael Connelly, Don Winslow, Lee Child and others helped launch Sakey's career after praising his work and bringing him to the attention of their legions of fans.

Brilliance sold to Legendary Entertainment (Jurassic World, Batman Begins) in a seven-figure deal following a multi-studio bidding war.  As Deadline Hollywood reported, stars including Will Smith, Jared Leto and Noomi Rapace were attached to the film at one time.  The screenplay has been written by blockbuster screenwriter David Koepp who has written Mission Impossible, Jurassic Park and Spiderman.  Jared Leto flirted with Brilliance before choosing to play the Joker in Suicide Squad.  Joe Roth and Palek Patel are the producers. The film remains in active development.
