CHICAGO, Dec. 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Internet Retailer, the world's leading publisher of strategic e-commerce business intelligence, today announced the call for company nominations for its second annual Internet Retailer Excellence Awards, which recognize the outstanding achievements made in the past year by innovative online retailers and consumer brand manufacturers, distributors and wholesalers who sell to business buyers online. Internet Retailer will host the 2016 Excellence Awards at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place hotel on June 8, 2016, as the Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition (IRCE) convenes for its 12th straight year. Internet Retailer serves as the official media sponsor of IRCE, which will occur at McCormick Place West in Chicago from June 7–10, 2016.
The Excellence Awards' recipients will be determined by a team comprised of Internet Retailer senior editors and e-commerce industry experts. Based on their performances across multiple categories in 2015, online retailers and B2B e-commerce companies worldwide will be nominated as contenders for the following 13 awards, up from last year's total of 10: Web Redesign of the Year, E-Retail Marketer of the Year, Best Marketing Video of the Year, Best Product Video of the Year, the Mobile Commerce Award, B2B E-Commerce Website Design of the Year, B2B E-Commerce Marketer of the Year, B2B E-Commerce Player of the Year, Omnichannel Retailer of the Year, Emerging E-Retailer of the Year, the E-Retail Growth Award, Global E-Retailer of the Year and the coveted award of Internet Retailer of the Year, which last year was won by The Home Depot Inc. Three finalists will be chosen in each category and all winners will be announced at the Excellence Awards dinner banquet the evening of June 8.
Submission forms are available online for companies to nominate themselves in up to three out of nine categories of the 13 Excellence Awards. Internet Retailer must receive all submissions by February 15, 2016.
"We're excited to launch the second annual Internet Retailer Excellence Awards and to expand the categories of excellence in which retailers can be recognized," says Kurt Peters, executive editor of Internet Retailer magazine. "Our goal is to highlight best practices that all online retailers can learn from. The greater number of award categories will provide more knowledge to the industry and thus more ways for e-retailers to improve their operations," he says.
A limited number of tickets will be available for e-retailers that are not award nominees but plan on attending the main conference days of IRCE. E-commerce solutions providers can attend the Excellence Awards by procuring a sponsorship package.
