MILPITAS, Calif., Nov. 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Intersil Corporation (NASDAQ: ISIL), a leading provider of innovative power management and precision analog solutions, today announced the appointment of Andrew Hughes as vice president and general counsel. Mr. Hughes brings a broad range of experience developed over a 25-year career negotiating complex commercial agreements, ensuring compliance and mitigating risk in a corporate environment. Mr. Hughes is replacing Tom Tokos who will be retiring at the end of the year after twelve years as Intersil's general counsel.
Mr. Hughes has been the lead counsel at a number of Fortune 1000 technology companies. He was most recently vice president, general counsel and secretary for Ikanos Communications, a fabless semiconductor and software company acquired by Qualcomm. There he provided legal support for its global operations, including drafting numerous strategic software and technology agreements, facilitating strategic partnerships and managing corporate governance. Mr. Hughes also spent a number of years as vice president, general counsel and secretary at Bell Microproducts and LSI Logic, where he contributed to improving governance and compliance, negotiating strategic acquisitions and managing large IP portfolios.

Mr. Hughes also has experience working at preeminent law firms serving the technology sector. As an attorney at Flex/Fenwick & West LLP, Mr. Hughes was responsible for providing legal counsel related to securities, M&A, and licensing agreements. He also served as division counsel at Harris Corporation and was a partner at the AV-rated law firm of England, Whitfield, Schroeder and Tredway.
Mr. Hughes earned a BA degree from UCLA, and an MBA and JD from Santa Clara University.
