Introducing motuto: Unique New Mobile Homework Assistance App For Students
motuto Connects Students with Live, Expert Tutors for On-Demand Math and Science Homework Help
EDMONTON, May 19 /PRNewswire/ - Castle Rock Research Corporation announced today the launch of motuto, a unique new mobile homework assistance app initially launching on the iOS platform with Android coming soon. motuto instantly connects students to live, trained tutors via a chat window accompanied by an interactive white board where students may draw, type or upload a picture of their questions. Available as a free download in the iTunes App Store, motuto costs $4.99 for the first 20-minute session ($1.99 for each additional 20 minutes) with a live tutor for help in the subjects of math and science for grades 7-12. The first tutoring session is free for anyone who downloads the service before June 15, 2011.
"As technology evolves and becomes more prevalent in our day to day lives, we are seeing an increasing number of ways we can enhance how and where we study," said Gautam Rao, chairman and CEO of Castle Rock Research. "In launching motuto, we are offering a cutting-edge way to engage students and provide homework assistance from the convenience of their mobile device, allowing them to take advantage of this assistance wherever and whenever they may need it."
Students are no longer limited to studying at home and doing their homework in front of the computer; they can access motuto on the bus, in between classes and anywhere they have a WiFi or network connection. Available first for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad, motuto's tutors are experts in biology, chemistry, physics, algebra, calculus, geometry, statistics and many other subjects.
motuto lets students access tutoring in an on-demand, a la carte way without the need to sign up for expensive monthly subscriptions.
How motuto works:
- Students pick the subject and topic they need help with
- The motuto app then matches an expert tutor with the student based on the subject
- Students explain the problem to their tutor and if they are on a device with a camera, they can take a picture and send it to their tutor
- The tutor provides help via text chat, shared whiteboard and lessons from the Castle Rock Research database that the tutor may prescribe
- When the tutoring session ends, motuto will email the student a summary of their session including screens and chats so that they can review them later
- Their session history will also be stored both on the device and in the cloud for them to access in the future
